The most recent further development of the iCVT oscillating shifting mechanism is presented below. This Oscillating shifter is driven by a conjugate cam pair and is integrated in the sheave unit. The picture to the right presents the conjugate cam pair.

This system does not require the iCVT variator to change ratios, as changes from "Low" to "High" range occur. Range changes can be done instantaneous, as the overall ratio does not change.
